Its design uses a highly efficient traction module instead of a torque converter, lightweight friction clutches and a torsional vibration damper, reduced friction losses between the elements, and a mechanical oil pump has given way to a more efficient electric one. As a result, the Koreans managed to achieve an average fuel consumption of 5.5-5.7 liters, while the previous generation required at least 6 liters per 100 km.
