From a technical point of view, Hyundai did not offer any revolutions. The Genesis G80 is built on a rear-wheel drive platform with McPherson struts at the front and a multi-link design at the rear, and for a surcharge, the car can be equipped with a Hyundai Traction all-wheel drive system (HTRAC) with electronically controlled traction distribution between the axles. Engineers of the Korean company tested the operation of this system at the Nurburgring, the local race track Yeonam, as well as in low temperatures on the snowy roads of northern Europe. According to the Koreans, HTRAC has proven to be efficient and reliable. Of the other electronic systems, it is worth noting the presence of traction control, lane departure warning and parking assistant.
