2019 Hyundai Elantra Owner's Manual

The Elantra’s hybrid powertrain is a combination of a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated GDI (direct injection) engine, a 32kW electric motor (mounted in a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox) and a 1.32kWh battery. On “clean electricity”, the car can only nominally move (although a separate mode is provided for this), but the declared average fuel consumption of such an installation is less than 4.7 liters per 100 kilometers. Peak return – 141 hp and 264 Nm of torque.
As for the classic power plants, for Elantra in different markets, a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated MPI engine of the SmartStream family (123 hp and 154 Nm), a 1.6-liter LPI (runs on gas, returns – 120 hp and 152 Nm), as well as 2.0 -liter atmospheric MPI operating on the Atkinson economy cycle (149 hp and 179 Nm). All of these engines are equipped with an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) V-chain variator.
