The installation of a forced motor in the N-version was accompanied by other improvements. So, the chassis of the car was reinforced at 12 points; a reinforced suspension received more advanced shock absorbers, springs and a front anti-roll bar, and a recalibrated steering mechanism has a reduced gear ratio (12:1 versus 12.4:1 for the base model).

In addition, the i20 N has more powerful front brakes: the front discs are 40 mm larger than those of the base i20. A front differential with a mechanical lock is designed to help cornering faster. The hatch stabilization system can be turned off completely.

Hyundai i20 is a 3-door version of the B-class hatchback built on the same platform as the Kia Soul. The debut of the restyled version of the model took place at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2012.
